PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A 12-person jury with one alternate has been selected to hear the case of a Fort Pierre man charged with attempted murder.

Attorneys on both sides were scheduled to give opening statements to the jury on Wednesday in the trial of Derek Boe. He is accused of shooting out the window of a vehicle occupied by a 24-year-old Pierre woman on a Hughes County road in January, narrowly missing the woman with the shotgun blast.

The trial is expected to last the rest of the week.
