Having just released his fifth solo album, The Calling, in October, Journey guitarist Neil Schon says he has another completed solo project in the can that he hopes to put out this year. It's a power trio album with Journey drummer Deen Castronova and current Thin Lizzy bassist Marco Mendoza, with all three sharing lead vocal duties.

Schon unveiled two new signature model Paul Reed Smith guitars -- the NS-14 and NS-15 semi-hollow bodies -- at last week's NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, and did a half-hour Q-and-A with fans at the PRS Guitars booth.

As for Journey's future recording plans, Schon recently told M: Music and Musicians magazine that he thinks "it's likely that the next thing the band will do is work on a song or two for movies, rather than a full album."
