Texas Blues guitar legend Jimmie Vaughan has had to cancel a string of concert dates including the Mahindra Blues Festival in India after suffering a heart attack last week (January 23, 2013)

In a post on the festival's website stated in part: “Jimmie Vaughan was admitted to Pomona Hospital Medical Center on January 23rd, 2013 with an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). He had a coronary angioplasty and stent placement. He is still in the hospital but recovering and has been advised by his cardiologist to rest at home for a month."

Jimmie Vuaghan played Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, Iowa last summer. He's a founding member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and is the big brother of late Blue legend Stevie Ray Vaughan.
