One of the biggest names in auto racing was in Siouxland today.

Five time Sprint Cup champion and the most recent winner of the Daytona 500, Jimmie Johnson was in Le Mars.

He and his wife were there promoting the Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope campaign.

Johnson took on a less speedy side of life to serve an  ice cream sundae to Make-A-Wish recipient Jacob Nichol, of Sergeant Bluff, as mother Karen Nichol looks on at the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor and Museum.

As part of that campaign fans nominate a charity, which is given $10,000.

The winner today, the Make A Wish Foundation.

Johnson says,

My wife and I really focus on children's causes and with ice cream the Well's families' mindset of family and children and community it just fit so well together. Very proud of the relationship."

Twelve other charities will also be chosen. If you know of a great place for the money to go visit: www.HelmetOfHope.org
