Films about Jimi Hendrix and the manager of Alice Cooper will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The long-awaited Jimi Hendrix bio flick, All Is by My Side, stars Andre Benjamin, also known as Andre 3000 of the hip-hop duo OutKast. The film takes a look at Hendrix as his career was taking off in England in 1967 and '68. It was made in the U.K. without the cooperation of the Hendrix estate.

Also set to premiere in Toronto is Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon, a documentary about manager of Alice Cooper, Blondie, the late Luther Vandross and Raquel Welch. It was directed by Mike Myers.

The full lineup for the festival will be announced on August 20th. It opens on September 5th and runs through the 15th.

New York will host the CBGB Music and Film Festival from October 9th to the 13th, and it will include the premiere of CBGB: The Movie, the story of the former New York club that gave rise to such acts as Blondie, Patti Smith and Talking Heads.
