It's grown into one of the top free music festivals in the Upper Midwest every year, and it's back this week! JazzFest 2015 runs Thursday, July 16 through Saturday, July 18, at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls.

This year's headliners include Marcia Ball Thursday, Boz Skaggs Friday, and Grace Potter Saturday.

Ball, a rockabilly, blues piano player from Louisiana, is making her third appearance at JazzFest.

Skaggs is best known for his 1970's hits 'Lido Shuffle' and 'Lowdown', but has seen his music move more towards the blues in recent years.

Potter has been making a name for herself with her band, The Nocturnals, over the past few years, but her career got a huge boost this year, when she was asked to open for The Rolling Stones at a pair of shows on their ZIP CODE Tour.

Those three are just a small part of the entertainment schedule, which plays out on two stages all three days. There is also an area of the festival grounds devoted to free kids' activities.

Every year, parking at JazzFest is a hot topic. This year, there are spots available at Yankton Trail Park for $10. Shuttle buses will also run throughout the event, this year from a new location, the Elmen Center at Augustana College, which replaces the Lincoln High School lot, which is undergoing repairs. Shuttles from O'Gorman and Roosevelt high schools will be added for Saturday. Cost of the shuttle is $3 each way.

I talked with with Rob Joyce from the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society about this year's event:
