In light of the fourth casino robbery in a week's time, Sioux Falls Police Department Public Information Officer Sam Clemens doesn't believe they are connected.

"Physical description of the latest robber is different from the others. This one is quite a bit taller. Why is this happening? That's the question we don't have an answer too. What we have seen in the past is this: when there is one robbery there is usually a flurry of others that happen. That's kind of where we are at right now. We have had four robberies in less than a week. Hopefully, there's not going to be more. But, if there are we will continue to deal with them."

Are the casino robberies becoming more violent?

"That's a tough question. Most casino robberies that we see the suspects have some type of firearm with them. Sometimes it's displayed. Sometimes it's just implied. The clerks and patrons know it's best to comply with the directions. That may help matters."

The latest robbery on Friday took place at Jokerz Casino where a man had threatened the staff with a gun.
