The Brennan Rock and Roll Academy in Sioux Falls opened in Sioux Falls the last week of March 2013 with a week long grand opening celebration filled with rock stars like Night Ranger, Alice Cooper, and Gene Simmons.

That amazing week raised over $1.7 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs and the academy which was built to give music lessons for free to all Boys & Girls Club kids in the city.

The lessons have gotten underway as you can see from the pictures, but the response from the kids has been so great, they need more instructors!

I have several friends who have already signed up and are giving drum lessons, guitar lessons, vocal lessons, but they could definitely use the help of some of the amazing musicians our city boasts.

I spent some time during that grand opening week talking to both Chuck Brennan, who founded the academy, and the ambassador of the facility, Kory Van Sickle, who told me they're not looking for musicians to give lessons full time. They're just looking for people who are good with kids and can offer a few hours a week or even a month to help tutor these budding rock stars.

So if you rock, and you want to help a kid who WANTS to rock, call Nicole at the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy at 605-275-1009.
