The number of women in law enforcement is on the rise and the South Dakota Highway Patrol realizes what an important role women play in the agency.

If you're looking for a challenging career with opportunities for advancement, you should attend an informational meeting on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Southeastern Direction for Life at 2000 S. Summit.

The S.D. Highway Patrol is looking for self-motivated, dedicated women to complete their team.

Trooper Deanna Johnson, a 6-year vet of the SDHP and Khrista Nelson, also a trooper with the SDHP will lead the meeting. They'll discuss the role of a trooper, different advancement opportunities, excellent benefits package, application process, training and will answer questions.

Applications are being taken through August 14, 2015.
