Last week we found out what one can of regular coca-cola does to the body in one hour. If you switched to Diet Coke thinking it was better, then you might want to reconsider.

Last week the Renegade Pharmacist released an infographic detailing what one can of regular Coke does to the human body. That, of course, found that blood sugar spikes, blood pressure rises, breaks down sugar to a point that rivals the effect of heroin, and causes the sugar crash leading to wanting more soda.

This week The Renegade Pharmacist is back at it again taking a look into Diet Coke. While a person might be cutting calories drinking Coke in the "diet" form, they will also be sacrificing potential weight gain, and even initiating a greater risk of Type-2 diabetes.

Are you always thirsty for more Diet Coke? The product combines caffeine and aspartame which creates an addictive high comparable to cocaine. 60 minutes after drinking it, the body craves food, sweets, or even more Diet Coke leading to potential weight gain.

The Renegade Pharmacist also says that this isn't just a Diet Coke problem, but a complete diet soda issue. Most work in the same way.
