Jessie Schmidt of the Sioux Falls Better Business Bureau says a couple of travel scams have surfaced recently.  Both involve scamming people spending the night in hotels.

Schmidt says in one case you're asked to verify your credit card information with the front desk, and the other involves people sliding fake food fliers under your hotel door.

Schmidt also recommends you call your credit card provider before going on vacation so they know to expect charges from out-of-state.
