The reconstruction of 41st Street from Sertoma Avenue to the Tea-Ellis Road continues on a steady pace.  One particular phase will be quite disruptive to area residents and a minor headache for drivers that will pass through.

First, we describe the closure of 42nd Street to Tea-Ellis Road in western Sioux Falls.  Most people don’t know there is an enclave of houses south of 41st Street.  Fortunately there are only a few.  As the adjacent intersection of T-E and 41st gets rebuilt, part of that will include the 42nd Street area.  For those who need to get to their house, they need to take a private driveway south of 42nd, go down onto a strip of gravel in the ditch and back up the slope to access 42nd.

Second, traffic going north and south on T-E will utilize new black top built to the west of the current surface so that the old lanes can get torn out.  The new lanes extend from south of 42nd Street to the north for about 4 blocks.

Drivers, get ready to make some adjustments as the 41st Street Reconstruction Project advances.  Completion is anticipated for November of 2014.
