Sioux Falls Stampede forward C.J. Franklin has committed to Minnesota State-Mankato for the 2014-15 season. He becomes the 18th Stampede player to commit to a Division I program this season.

Franklin was a fifth round selection of the Stampede during the 2012 USHL Draft. He is currently tied for third on the team in scoring with 28 points (13g, 15a) in 33 games. His plus-16 rating is tops amongst Stampede forwards and tied with Matt Van Voorhis for best overall on the team. He has seven points (3g, 4a) in his last five games and has points in eight of his last ten games (5g, 9a) overall.

The Forest Lake, Minn. native spent last season at Forest Lake High School where he posted 42 points (15g, 27a) in 27 games.

The Stampede take a nine-game winning streak into their game in Green Bay tonight.  The Herd lead the Western Conference in the USHL with a 25-8-1 record.
