So we have some fresh powder here in the Sioux Falls area and that's great news for skiers who are heading out to Great Bear Recreation Area. But for those of you heading to the Black Hills you'll be seeing more snow.

This President's weekend heavier snow is expected in the western part of South Dakota through Monday, February 19.

According to KOTA TV in Rapid City a Winter Storm Watch is in effect through late this weekend and Monday, with significant snowfall possible. There is increasing potential for 6 inches or more of snowfall across the watch area, with close to a foot of snow possible in some areas

And that's not all. The Black Hills cold see cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero late Sunday night and Monday.

You shouldn't have any problem getting to the Rapid City area but once you're there settle in for some deep powder. Monday travel will not be good in the Black Hills so I hope you plan to enjoy a day or two extra.

Sioux Falls weather this weekend is always up to date from the meteorologists at KSFY TV.
