Rain began at the Sioux Falls airport at 4:35 am Saturday morning. As of 4:35 am this morning, our official rainfall was 4.65 inches.

This breaks the previous ALL-TIME 24-hour precipitation record of 4.59 inches, which occurred August 1, 1975. This also sets a new 24-hour record rainfall for the month of June, topping the previous record of 4.26 inches on June 16, 1957.

The heavy rain has shutdown a portion of Interstate 90 near Luverne, MN.  At the Hills-Beaver Creek exit water is over all four lanes.
