Creedence Clearwater Revival get their due from the Latin rock community with the upcoming Quiero Creedence tribute album — featuring the set's new single, Los Lonely Boys' cover of "Born on the Bayou."

Rolling Stone has premiered the lyric video for the song, which you can watch below.

"Recording 'Born on the Bayou' was such a rock 'n' roll blessing, and it was such an honor to pay tribute to one of the best bands in history," singer/guitarist Henry Garza told RS. "We love CCR and this song has always been one of our personal favorites. The guitar riff alone always gave me chills because it's just so simply bad-ass."

"Not only was it one of our all-time CCR favorites, but the song speaks volumes about where someone comes from," added singer/bassist Jojo Garza. "We really didn't learn that 'til later in our years, but it makes perfect sense now."

For producer Juan Manuel Caipo, the project makes perfect sense — even if the idea might catch some fans by surprise. "I’d always thought that Latin music and musicians were stereotyped, but we have rock, pop, electro, disco, funk — every genre, and so many of the artists were influenced by Creedence, but people never have heard that," he explains in the album's press release. "I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to do a tribute album with artists from all over Latin America?’ And we started slowly and organically, with every band doing their own take on songs they grew up with."

Quiero Creedence, which is scheduled for a July 29 release and available for pre-order now, also features contributions from Los Lobos, Juanes, Ozomatli and Marisol Hernández, who teams up with ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons for a cover of "Green River." Check out the complete track listing below.
