Happy Birthday Sioux Falls Weather Balls
Who, besides me, remembers the Weather Balls that once dotted the landscape in Sioux Falls?
It was on August 28, 1952 the weather balls were installed and put into use.
There are a lot of different versions out there regarding the jingle, but here is how I remember it -
When the weather ball is red, warmer weather is ahead. When the weather ball is white, colder weather is in sight. When the weather ball is green, no change is foreseen. When the colors blink by night and day, precipitation is on the way.
KSFY Meteorologist Shawn Cable actually found the old weather ball television jingle they used to run up the Twin Cities. Click here if you want to watch it.
