Over 37 years of inspiring stories have been shared through Jerry Dahmen's I Love Life radio feature in multiple communities. With 1,600 guests sharing their "struggles turned to triumph" stories, their accounts have also lead to two best selling books under the direction of Dahmen.

Acknowledging the lives that have been impacted by Dahmen and the I Love Life program, Governor Dennis Daugaard proclaimed June 2017 as I Love Life month in South Dakota:

Whereas: "I Love Life," one of radio broadcasting's longest running shows, is celebrating its 37th anniversary, and since the program began airing on KXRB Radio in Sioux Falls, "I Love Life" has featured more than 1,600 guests who have shared inspirational stories of what it takes to turn adversity into victory; and,

Whereas, Aside from the "I Love Life" radio shows, the program's creator and host, Edward R. Murrow and George Foster Peabody Honoree Jerry Dahmen, News Director of Townsquare Media's KXRB in Sioux Falls, has written two best-selling books titled "I Love Life in Spite Of It All" and "I Love Life: The Real Survivors 50 Stories of Hope, Inspiration and Faith."  Jerry has also produced 5 "I Love Life" CD's; and,

Whereas, "I Love Life" has also assisted community groups via donations from books/CD sales, including the Salvation Army; and,

Whereas "I Love Life" has been featured on a number of local and national television programs including Oprah, the 700 Club, and Nashville Now:

Now, Therefore, I, Dennis Daugaard, Governor of the state of South Dakota, do hereby proclaim June 2017 as I Love Life Month.
