Gov. Dennis Daugaard has declared a state of emergency following Sunday's blizzard.

Data from the South Dakota Rural Electric Association shows that 13,750 homes and businesses amongst 12 electrical cooperatives are still without electricity at this time.

Local line workers across the state received help Tuesday morning from an additional 35 workers. 25 of those are from Iowa and 10 from Minnesota, bringing the total amount of employees helping restore power to 255.

The Milbank and Sisseton areas were affected the most, with about 6,000 still without power.

It could take a few days to get power up and running for everyone affected.
