Get Away from It All in One of the 6 Smallest Towns in South Dakota

Wetonka is in southern McPherson County near the North Dakota border. The 2010 census reported that the town had 8 residents.

Lowry is in north central South Dakota in Walworth County near Mobridge. In 2010 it's population was 6.

The town's Wikipedia entry says Lowry is home to "Lowry Pilgrim Community Church, Swan Creek Harness Shop, J & C Repair, Karst Service and a fire station. Lowry also has an abandoned school, and a post office, which closed to service in the early 1970s."

Verdon is in Brown County. Named after Verdun, France, Verdon has a population of 5. It's post office operated from 1887 to 1982.

Lily is in Day County in northern South Dakota. It has a population of 4.

Lily was a depot on the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad until 1979.

White Rock in Roberts County had a population of 3 in the 2010 census.

Wikipedia says, "White Rock took its name from a white granite boulder near the original town site. The namesake boulder was destroyed and a grain elevator was built at the spot."
