BROOKINGS - The president of the American Society of Human Genetics will be at South Dakota State University next week to talk about the role nutrition plays in genetics.

Jeff Murray is a professor of pediatrics, epidemiology, nursing and biological sciences at the University of Iowa. He will give a speech titled "The Personal Genome and Nutrition" at 4 p.m. Monday in the Volstorff Ballroom at SDSU's Student Union.

Murray says scientists are developing a better understanding of how people respond and absorb nutrients.

The speech is free and open to the public.
