The price at the pump is starting to creep up again.

The average price of a gallon of gas in Sioux Falls is now $2.37, that price reflects an 8.2 cent a gallon jump in the past week.

The national average right now is $2.54 a gallon.

What is fueling the spike? It's a rebound in crude oil prices, according to Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.

According to DeHaan, "Higher crude costs have caused an increase in gasoline prices in the last week across the United States, with even bigger spikes in the West Coast, where refinery problems have returned. The national average stands at a four-month high, though for this date prices remain at their lowest since 2009.”

Even though there's been a bump at the pump, there is still a reason to smile the next time you fill up. The current price of gas is still $1.09 cents cheaper than this same time last year.
