The 75th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has come and gone, but I wouldn't say I missed it. Let me explain.

I went to college at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, about 20 miles from Sturgis. I worked in Deadwood during college, about 15 miles from Sturgis. I also lived in Rapid City during the Rally. I was a local for three rallies. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is an amazing event, especially considering its massive size and the small town it happens in. But when you live there it is totally different. It's a hassle. It can be very profitable, but it is still a hassle.

Don't misunderstand me, I don't dislike the rally at all. It's a sweet event. But I think of it differently because while I did attend two rallies as a motorcyclist, I was working most of the time. I wasn't there for fun. Being on a bike made it easier to get around, but all I did was work.

So here are four things you and I didn't miss at the rally.

(Unwanted) Nudity

Weirdos

Traffic

Annual Sturgis Storm
