RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Rapid City officials say a bronze statue of President Bill Clinton could be back in town soon, following a visit to a Hill City foundry for repairs.

The Rapid City Journal reports officials are trying to determine what caused the life-size statue to topple onto its side Thursday.

City of Presidents committee spokeswoman Dallerie Davis says the statue could be back at the corner of St. Joseph and Seventh streets sometime next week.

Kristen Donnan Standard of Black Hills Bronze in Hill City says the Clinton statue arrived Friday morning with a dent in its right back shoulder and broken welds. She says it appeared the statue was vandalized.
