A steady parade to the foul line served the Mad Ants well in the 130-125 victory over the Skyforce on Sunday in Fort Wayne in front of 4,143 souls at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

In the only meeting between these two teams this season, it seemed that these two teams wanted to make the affair last as long as possible. Very rarely does the time of game matter in the NBADL, but this one took about two hours and forty minutes from tipoff to final horn.

Combining for 73 personal fouls, 95 foul shots and five disqualifications between the two teams may be what jumps off the page initially. Some of those were necessary as the Skyforce (2-1) needed to foul to whittle an 11-point lead down to three in the last 90 seconds.

In the end Fort Wayne (2-0) opened their home schedule on a winning note mostly by maintaining a 7 to 12 point advantage for most of the game. Plus the Mad Ants bench outscored the Sioux Falls reserves 73-36 with Jordan Loyd topping the list with 24 points and a 14-15 performance at the free throw line with sub Nick Zeisloft adding 21 counters.

Briante Weber scored a point per minute with his 22 tallies but fouled out with 4:43 left in the game. Keith Benson added 21 points and 8 rebounds and rookie Stefan Jankovic scored 19 with 9 rebounds.

Both teams will be back on the court Tuesday night. Fort Wayne is off to Maine for a date with the Red Claws while Sioux Falls returns home to face the Austin Spurs.
