FORT THOMPSON, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota woman has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for a traffic crash that killed her boyfriend.

Authorities say 20-year-old Leigha Koster, of Fort Thompson, was driving drunk and fleeing from a police officer when she crashed her vehicle last July. Twenty-one-year-old Louis Herman died in the rollover crash near Fort Thompson.

Koster pleaded guilty last October to involuntary manslaughter. U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says she was sentenced this week to 33 months in prison, two years of supervised release and about $17,000 in restitution.
