RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A former South Dakota high school teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with one of his students has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and sexual contact with a child under 16.

A conviction on either charge could send 26-year-old Kyle Keegan to prison for up to 15 years.

The Rapid City Journal reports that Keegan taught social studies and was a guidance counselor in New Underwood. He's accused of having sex with a 15-year-old female student in October.
