Heavy rain fell across the Sioux Empire Monday morning. Reports of three to four inches on rain have been received.

More rain and storms are expected to move through the Sioux Falls area over the next few hours. So a Flash Flood Warning has been issues until 3:00 PM.

1238 PM CDT MON AUG 21 2017

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Minnehaha County in southeastern South Dakota...
  North central Lincoln County in southeastern South Dakota...

* Until 330 PM CDT

* At 1236 PM CDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy
  rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have
  already fallen. if flash flooding isn`t occurring it is expected
  to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Sioux Falls, Tea and Rowena.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
