The folks in the diners of the usually quiet Minnesota town of Lino Lakes have quite a bit to talk about over coffee this morning. Although some details were still unclear as of late Sunday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports five people were hurt and one was arrested after police shut down an illegal rodeo Saturday night.

The raucous event took place on an acreage with a rented rented house and a barn on Main St.

According to police reports, fights broke out at the illegal rodeo involving "30-plus people" using "whips and spurs" and "cars trucks smashing into each other."

One officer reported that there could have been as many as one hundred people present who tried to scatter and flee when law enforcement showed up.

Incredibly, Lino Lakes police Sgt. Mitch DeMars said they have done this in the past.

The organizer of the event was also taken into custody "for facilitating the unlawful assembly." - Lino Lakes police. (St. Paul Pioneer Press)

Apparently, the organizer of the chaotic event is cooperating with authorities.
