A fire in an apartment building in eastern Sioux Falls is being called suspicious.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue crews were called at 10:15 pm Monday to 111 North Cleveland Avenue.

They found light smoke coming from the north side of the building and heavy fire in the first-floor hallway.

They had the fire under control in 15 minutes.

The residents had left the building when they heard the smoke and fire alarms and no one was injured.

The Red Cross set up a shelter for the residents for the night.

The fire is being called suspicious and is under investigation.
