Fire early Tuesday heavily damaged two units of a storage building at 2500 North Drive in Sioux Falls and injured a man.

The fire was reported around 3:30am, and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Mark Bukovich says the first crews on scene found smoke and fire coming from two units of the ten-unit building, and an injured person who had been in the building when the fire broke out.

He was taken to a hospital, and the extent of his injuries is not known.

Bukovich says crews had the fire out in about 20 minutes, but there was heavy fire damage in the two units and smoke damage in the others.

The cause has not been determined, but Bukovich says it may have involved heating equipment and he says the victim may have been sleeping in the unit.
