Fight Outside Sioux Falls Apartment Leaves One Man in Hospital, Another Man to Jail

A weekend altercation outside an east-side apartment building put one man in a hospital and sent another man to jail.

Police were called around 1:00 AM Saturday to the 1300 block of South Majestic View Place.

Officer Sam Clemens says two people had been outside the building when the suspect joined them:

Clemens says the 25-year-old victim was taken to a hospital where he regained consciousness and gave police information that led to the suspect's name. He says 22-year-old Marcellino Cochran of Sioux Falls was arrested for aggravated assault around 5:00 PM when he went to a hospital with a cut to his hand.

Clemens says Cochran is believed to have been cut as he punched the victim with an open knife in his hand.
