A house fire in Sioux Falls on December 22nd, 2012 that killed three children remains under investigation.

I spoke to a Sioux Falls Police officer yesterday who told me that it's a slow process because there is a lot of structural issues with entering the house. They are getting braces in place to ensure the safety of the investigators once the scene is thawed out and dried out. The investigation hasn't been able to get started.

Yesterday, the mother of the children, 34-year old Rhiannon White, was charged with two counts of possession of drugs the night of the fire when, according to court documents, lab results from an area hospital where she was treated following the fire showed methamphetamine, ecstasy and marijuana in her system.

Officials say the investigation into the cause of the fire and the recent drug charges are separate matters.
