Guitarist 'Dangerous' Dan Toler, who gained fame as a member of the Allman Brothers Band, Great Southern and Gregg Allman's solo band, has died at the age of 64 from ALS (Lou Gehrigs's Disease)

Toler was a member of Great Southern in the 1970's with Dickey Betts when Betts was recruited into the Allman Brothers. Toler soon followed and toured with the Allmans until 1982.

From there, Toler was a member of Gregg Allman's solo band and earned a gold record for his work on Allman's I'm No Angel album.

Toler rejoined Great Southern and played Sioux Falls JazzFest with Dickey Betts in 2004 before reforming the Toler/Townshend Band with his brother Frank and Johnny Townshend.
