Fender is re-creating Eric Clapton's "Brownie" Stratocaster.

The 1956 two-colored sunburst Strat that Clapton used to record "Layla" is being reproduced by the Fender Custom Shop and will go on sale this spring. It will be limited to just 100 guitars worldwide.

Clapton auctioned off the original "Brownie" in 1999 to raise money for his Crossroads rehab center. It sold for $450,000, which at the time was the highest price ever paid for a single guitar.
