A daytime crime in the parking lot of The Empire Mall has left a woman shaken as she was grabbed by the throat and her purse ripped from her shoulder.

Sergeant Ryan Flogstad from the Sioux Falls Police Department says the attack took place at 1:23 PM on Friday May 27, 2016.

The victim, who was parked east of Macy’s and south of Dick’s Sporting Goods, says she was getting back into her car with her purse on her left shoulder when a man attacked her from behind.  The man then grabbed her by the throat, took her purse and ran toward an older white two door pickup where two other suspects were inside. The pickup drove south toward 49 Street.

Police say they're looking for a particular license plate:

The pickup was bearing a license plate TNY105”but the State is unknown. There were three suspects in the pickup. The running suspect is described as a skinny dark skinned male, average height with long dark curly hair.  He was last seen wearing light colored jeans and a t-shirt with dark gray, red and white markings.  No injuries were sustained.  If anyone has any information regarding this incident call the Sioux Falls Police, 367-7000 or Crime Stoppers, 367-7007.
