Elton John is back in stores today with The Diving Board, his first album under just his name in seven years, and his first-ever to feature just piano, bass and drums.

Elton is such a fan of new music that he knows every album that is coming out on Mondays in England and Tuesdays in the U.S. So he was asked what might be going through his head this morning as fans head out to buy The Diving Board and he said, "It's very nerve racking because you want it to do well... I'm nervous about today but...now the record has to stand on its own two feet."

The Diving Board is his 30th studio album and first for Capitol Records. The songs were written with longtime writing partner Bernie Taupin and produced by T-Bone Burnett.

Elton will celebrate the release with a show in Las Vegas as part of his Million Dollar Piano residency.
