Typically one would go to a pawn shop in hopes of getting a good deal on some electronics, tools, guns, a musical instrument, or maybe a watch or piece of jewelry.

But methamphetamine?

Aberdeen, South Dakota Police were surprised when they obtained a search warrant and discovered thousands of dollars worth of meth on Thursday (October 13) at Aberdeen Pawn at 16 3rd Ave SE.

KDLT News reports that investigators seized 164 grams of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of more than $30,000. Found along with the meth, was assorted pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Following the seizure, police arrested three people, 50-year-old Silas Wilson of Aberdeen, 25-year-old Sharon Balsimo of Claremont, Minnesota and 40-year-old Randy Becker of Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

Authorities booked Wilson on multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and keeping a place for the use or sale of a controlled substance. While Balsimo and Becker, are both looking at drug possession charges.
