Another SculptureWalk statue gets manhandled in Downtown Sioux Falls. The discovery was made early Friday morning.

Sioux Falls Police Captain Greg Vandekamp says the notification came at 6:10 AM. A witness saw the statue “Stag Beetle” being pulled from its base.

The suspect and described him as a 40 year-old Native American wearing a black jacket, black pants, white socks, black shoes and carrying a black backpack. Even though the incident took place at 300 E. 8th Street the suspect was last seen near The Banquet.

An estimate of the damage done to the sculpture was not immediately available. No arrest has been made.

This marks the third statue that has been either damaged or stolen in this year’s edition of SculptureWalk. Back in late May, the “Book Peddlers” and “Raven” statues were vandalized.
