First Friday is a special day of shopping, art and entertainment from 10am - 8pm the First Friday of every month downtown!

Many stores stay open late until about 8:00pm. Enjoy a day and evening of culture and activity. Visit a variety of retailers, artist venues and fabulous restaurants, plus music and drinks at all your favorite hot spots.

September's First Friday theme is Chalk the Walk!

Here's what's going on:
Animals on the Amphitheater: Meet four live animals with the Great Plains Zoo’s ZooExpress, which will be stopping by the Amphitheater on First Fridays May through September. Featuring a different educational and entertaining presentation each month, by knowledgeable zoo staff, Animals on the Amphitheater brings the zoo to you! Downtown River Greenway Amphitheater

Downtown Block Party on the Eastbank: Enjoy live music from Toby Kane & Guilty Pleasures Band, food vendors, beer and wine for purchase and shopping at some of the most unique stores in Sioux Falls from 6:00 - 10:30pm. Picnic table seating will be provided, but feel free to bring your own lawn chair. Admission is FREE. 8th & Railroad Center, 401 East 8th Street
