If the 2016 Republican primary election pops the way the kernels were cast at the South Dakota State Fair, Donald Trump will get the parties nomination next year.

The "Donald" received the most corn kernels from South Dakota State Fair attendees last week with 32 percent of the vote, that according to the Beadle County Republican Women who announced the results on Tuesday night.

Over a six day period, 2,976 voters ages 18 and older were allowed to cast their kernels into mason jars to designate their favorite candidates. Voters were allowed to cast their ballot regardless of their party affiliation.

According to the results of the unscientific contest, Ben Carson, retired Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon, now turned politician received the second highest kernel count at 31 percent.

Here's how the top 10 stalked, I mean stacked up:

  • Donald Trump at 32 percent
  • Dr. Ben Carson at 31 percent
  • Jeb Bush at 5.4 percent
  • Ted Cruz at 5.3 percent
  • Mike Huckabee at 5.1 percent
  • Carly Fiorina at 4.9 percent
  • Scott Walker at 3.4 percent
  • Marco Rubio at 3.1 percent
  • John Kasich at 2.6 percent
  • Rand Paul at 1.7 percent
