Don Henley has announced plans to extend his 2017 solo tour.

The new North American dates will run from June 6-18, while a special 70th birthday concert at American Airlines Arena in Dalles is planned for July 22. The birthday celebration will include several surprise guests, and a career-spanning set list that covers his solo work as well as songs he wrote and performed with Eagles.

JD and the Straight Shot, a band led by Cablevision Systems Corporation CEO and Madison Square Garden Company Executive Chairman James L. Dolan, will open dates on the tour.

On July 15 and 29, Henley will also join his Eagles bandmates to headline the new Classic East and Classic West festivals in New York and Los Angeles. These will be the first shows the group has played since co-founder Glenn Frey's death in January 2016.

Henley had said in back in September 2016 that the only way he could see reuniting was if Frey's son, Deacon, joined the band, but quickly dispelled the idea, saying a reunion would just seem like "greed."

Henley's latest solo album, Cass Countywas released in July 2015. You can purchase tickets for the tour at his website.
