Deuel County Crash Kills Watertown Man

A Watertown man died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash, 16 miles south of Watertown on Interstate 29 in Deuel County.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 34-year-old Michael Boyd of Watertown was  southbound on I-29 around 6:45am when his vehicle veered from the roadway, traveled into the center median and then entered the northbound driving lanes.

Troopers say Boyd's vehicle collided with a semi-truck driven by 67-year-old Dennis Korthals of Alton, Iowa.

Boyd sustained fatal injuries from the crash, while Korthals had minor injuries.

The Patrol says both were wearing seat belts.
