Dee Snider has come a LONG way from singing in the church choir in New York as a boy. Best known for fronting metal band Twisted Sister (the band got back together about a decade ago and play about a dozen dates each year (including Rocklahoma and the U.K.'s Download Festival this year). Snider will be in Sioux Falls on May 30 at the 17th annual RibFest at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds presented by Dollar Loan Center with proceeds going to the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy.

Snider will perform on "Ladies Night" Friday during the festival with Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, Tom Keifer of Cinderella and Rick Springfield. Tickets for Friday are $15 or the best value is a $30 weekend pass that will allow you in for all four days including 11 national bands. Tickets are available at the Sioux Falls Arena box office, all ticketmaster locations or online here.

Snider has been an actor, screenwriter and radio host (House of Hair) over the years, but his voice is every bit as good (if not better) than when he and the band burst on the scene during the MTV era with great videos for their hits.

He was a part of the lineup for THE Fundraiser in Las Vegas in December for the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy showing off his physique, vocals and energy for the thousands in attendance. Snider has a highlight in a night of highlights and will bring the rock to RibFest May 30!

I got a couple of minutes to talk to Dee when he was in Sioux Falls in February for the RibFest lineup announcement about Twisted Sister, performing for huge crowds and the necessity of places like the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy with arts in the schools being cut.
