Dave Grohl To Keynote At 2013 SXSW

Dave Grohl will be the keynote speaker for the 2013 South by Southwest Music and Media Conference and Festival in Austin, Texas. The Foo Fighters' frontman will deliver the address on Thursday, March 14th at the Austin Convention Center, the hub of SxSW's music events. Bruce Springsteen gave this year's keynote speech.

Grohl is finishing up work on his Sound City: Real to Reel documentary, about the legendary Van Nuys, California studio where Nirvana recorded Nevermind and where many other classic albums have been produced. Although no announcement has been made, it seems quite possible that he plans to screen the film at the conference, which traditionally has served as a launching pad for similar projects.
