The Claypool Lennon Delirium are covering some classic-rock royalty on their upcoming EP.

The band, led by Primus frontman Les Claypool and Sean Lennon, the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, turn in versions of songs originally made famous by King Crimson, Pink Floyd and the Who on their new four-song EP. Lime and Limpid Green will be released on Aug. 4.

The record includes covers of King Crimson's "In the Court of the Crimson King," Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine" and the Who's "Boris the Spider." The limited-edition EP is printed on clear vinyl with green splatter. It was originally released earlier this year for Record Store Day.

Lime and Limpid Green also includes a cover of the 1971 Flower Travellin' Band oddity "Satori," which you can check out above in the Claypool Lennon Delirium's appropriately freaky new video.

"We were both feeling and hearing something that we wanted to do that was deeply inspired by those people who were the most peculiar in their time, like Syd [Barrett]," Lennon told Rolling Stone. "Since we only had one album as a band, we wanted to add songs to the live show that would illustrate and elaborate upon what the Delirium were all about."

"The thought was to play songs that we hadn't interpreted in the studio prior," Claypool added. "Most of these tunes were played extensively live, so they had time to evolve and develop their own greasy little personalities."

The band has performed "Astronomy Domine," as well as the Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows," onstage recently. The Claypool Lennon Delirium released their first album, Monolith of Phobos, last year.
