A Sioux Falls woman has been issued two citations for her role in a fatal car-bicycle crash a month ago.

Police officer Sam Clemens says 26-year-old Terra Jo Zahn was ticketed for failure to use due caution and failure to yield from a private drive.

The citations stem from a crash on July 16th in the 2600 block of /West 49th Street that killed 22-year-old Natasha Adams of Sioux Falls.

Clemens says after police had completed their investigation, the Minnehaha County State's Attorney's office declined to pursue charges.

So investigators consulted with the City Attorney to learn whether any ordinances had been broken.

He says when police investigate crashes, they don't look to punish people or send messages; they look to see whether state laws or city ordinances have been violated.

Clemens says the violations of city ordinances are punishable by fines.

He says Zahn is scheduled for a court date on Friday, but she can pay the fines without having to appear in court.
