I love pork. Chops, roast, ribs, kabobs, sausage, be it grilled, broiled, pulled, barbecued, stir-fried, or sauced, you name it and I would marry it! But last night as I was watching an episode of the PBS program  Naturecalled "My Bionic Pet" I fell in love with a different kind of pork, his name is Chris P. Bacon.

Chris P. is a delightful, differently-abled porcine being who was adopted by a Florida veterinarian when he was just a "wee little porker". Even as a full-grown pig Chris is absolutely adorable!

Chris was brought into Dr. Len Lucero's veterinary office to be euthanized due to the fact that he had unusable back legs and his owner didn't think he would have any quality of life. Dr. Lucero told the client that if she turned Chris over to him, he would do everything in his power to give the little pig a good life. She did and he has kept his promise beyond all expectations!

He built Chris his first wheeled harness out of some of his little boy's toys. Chris has grown, a lot, and now uses a wheelchair originally built for a dog. His attitude, energy and absolute swiney joy is an endearing lesson in tenacity and making the best of what we've all been given in life.

Follow Chris P. Bacon on Twitter and watch him go. . .
