LEGO robots? Check. Science? Yup. Technology, Engineering and Math too? Of course! It's the state LEGO League Tourney this Saturday at the Augustana Elmen Center!

It's an organization which introduces young people, from ages 9 to 14 (grades 4-8), to the fun and excitement of science and technology. Inventor Dean Kamen (best known for his creation, the Segway and numerous medical equipment innovations) is determined to motivate young people to pursue lives and careers in the STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) fields.

He created the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology) organization as a conduit to that end, but the whole experience is a lot of fun too and not just for the kids!

The State Tourney Opening Ceremonies will be from 8:10 - 8:40 AM with Robot Runs from 9:30 to 11:00 AM and 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Encore (unjudged) project presentations will be in room 230 from 1:25 to 2:15 pm and 2:40 to 3:30 pm. Closing Ceremonies will be from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
