California’s Tim Kaeding Wins at Huset’s Speedway [VIDEO]
Sunday night June 23rd at Huset’s Speedway was one of the best races you could ever hope to see. In the outlaw sprint 25 lap main event there was passing, slide jobs, lap traffic and lots of excitement right down to the finish.
At the end it was Tim Kaeding in the HR Cattle #83 taking the double checkers. He took the lead away from Terry McCarl for good with only 2 laps to go after the 2 drivers had went back and forth for the front spot thru traffic.
McCarl would settle for 2nd after leading a good portion of the feature. He got out front passing Lynton Jeffrey about a third of the way into the race. Another driver that challenged for the lead hard was Mark Dobmeier.
Dobmeier actually did pass Jeffrey for the lead at one point early on, but a caution flag came out before the lap was counted. Dobmeier would eventually finish 3rd after a great effort over the course of the whole race.
Ian Madsen came across in 4rd and Jeffrey who was strong over the 25 laps leading early was 5th. Race winner Tim Kaeding came from the 8th starting position and also set the quick time at the start of an event that would have 5 cars timing in the 10′s.
In the other 4 classes of competition there was good racing as well. Jody Rosenboom was victorious in the 360 sprints. The 2 time champion led all 18 laps in the #5W with a lot of passing going on behind him.
6 time defending champion Gary Brown, Jr. started 6th in his #22 car built by his brother Mark. He took over the lead on lap 8 to win his 1st Huset’s feature of the season, making a total of 57 wins at the track padding his number at the top of the overall win list for the street stocks at the track.
In the b mod division, Dustin Kruse of Brandon, SD took over the lead on lap 8 in car #6 for his 2nd trip to victory lane this year. And Dylan Fitzpatrick of Sioux Falls, SD in car #4 made a 1st ever visit to Huset’s Speedway’s victory lane in the hobby stocks after starting inside row 3. Complete Results
